The first commercially available electronic music synthesizers were made in the late 1950s and were popularized in mainstream music use by the 1970s. The sound of the 80s essentially is just the synthesizer. Since then, electronically-generated sounds have been used to invent many genres of music as well as invaded those genres previously dominated by… Continue reading Psychological and Spiritual Consequences of Synthesized vs. Analogue Music

The Political Compass is Worse Than Useless
The left/right paradigm is the Overton window of the world. Almost everyone limits their thinking of politics to that of the left and the right. The 'Political Compass' has emerged in the past two decades as a popular way by which people identify their political position, usually by taking a rudimentary test online. This compass… Continue reading The Political Compass is Worse Than Useless

No Criticism Without Jealousy?
https://youtu.be/Y8eO3gihP9k In the video above, I posit that: "There is no sense in which a criticism (whether legitimate or illegitimate) could not also be motivated by jealousy." That doesn't automatically invalidate the criticism, but it gives a potential context for its emergence. The examples used in the video above pertain mostly to criticism of (and… Continue reading No Criticism Without Jealousy?
The 7 Steps of Reason for Unification & Understanding
In its earliest stages, Unism more or less existed ephemerally, in the discussions and bonds between its members and followers. We have always been convinced of the importance of Unism, and dedicated to the expansion of it, as an idea and practice, for individuals and for the world. But until recently, we have lacked the… Continue reading The 7 Steps of Reason for Unification & Understanding
What is the Power Process?
We're a long way from 1995 - the year in which "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski's social critique Industrial Society and its Future was published in The New York Times and The Washington Post. The essay asserts that Industry, Technology, and the societies it has produced, "have been a disaster for the human race."
AUDIOBOOK: Industrial Society & Its Future
In 1995, an essay was written and released under the authorship of FC, "Freedom Club." The essay, Industrial Society & its Future, described the contemporary societal dynamics and social atmosphere, as well as prophetically prognosticating about the future of the industrial-technological societies in which we live. The circumstances and context of the essay are so… Continue reading AUDIOBOOK: Industrial Society & Its Future

The Golden Rule
The core principle of Unism, as a philosophy of thought and approach to life, is known as "The Golden Rule," and exists in nearly every major world religion. Hinduism: Everything you should do you will find in this: Do nothing to others / That would hurt you if it were done to you. (Mahabharata 5:1517… Continue reading The Golden Rule
Wage Reform 2 Step
Have you ever asked yourself why it is that, when a restaurant becomes popular and serves twice as many customers as they did the month before, only the owner receives any of that dramatic influx of wealth, when they themselves have done the very least to serve and service those new customers? Is this not the manner and mode of labor compensation which was utterly despised when alleged of Communism? That workers being paid a set wage regardless of output, attitude, aptitude or ability would result in a feckless, substandard society where no one is happy to work and all service is terrible?
Call To Inaction #2
Hello world! In our second official Call To Inaction - our term for a concerted, repeating avoidance of a product, service, or activity - we are addressing a realm that will require much attention in the coming month's posts: the Internet. In 2016, hardly any of us actually stop and take time out of our day… Continue reading Call To Inaction #2
Unism as a Participatory Culture
Hello all! Unism is the start of a new participatory culture, which solidifies the open-minded and well-intended among us: the millions and millions of otherwise non-categorizable, non-affiliated people who are not satisfied with the state of disharmony, predation, and warfare we exist in. Unism is for those of us, all across the world, who seek to… Continue reading Unism as a Participatory Culture
How To End Racism, Part 2
(Continued from Part One) If someone is expressing malice or hatred towards a certain group, it should be clear from the context. It is this contextual indicator that has allowed the formulation of many jokes in popular culture about people perceiving the word "Mexican" itself as an insult. The character Michael Scott, played by actor… Continue reading How To End Racism, Part 2
How To End Racism, Part 1
How do we end racism? This is an enormous issue facing our world and our daily interactions within it. While racism surely manifests itself in extremely intangible, systemic ways, these systems were established and are maintained by actual people, with attitudes informed by fear and isolation. If we are to end racism, moving away from… Continue reading How To End Racism, Part 1

“Check Your Privilege?”
Unism begins with accepting the fundamental dignity and humanity of Yourself. You, as a human being, alive and reading this, exist in a world ruled by societies whose ideologies and societal processes inherently dehumanize you. Some people can avoid the realizations and/or effects of this dehumanization and alienation much longer than others, usually dependent on… Continue reading “Check Your Privilege?”
